Getting It Done

Don't procrastinate

It may have been easy in high school to wait until the last minute to complete an assignment and still get a good grade, but that kind of stuff will not work for you in college. Give yourself deadlines -- and stick to them.  Anyone have problems getting stuff done when you want to?

Start Early To Get More Done

Get an early start to each day.

I wasn’t getting up at 5am when I was in college, but I’d usually get up around 6-7am.  I found that getting an early start each day helped me get a lot more done, not just in the morning but throughout the day.  I began each day with a 30-minute workout followed by a shower and breakfast.  This simple morning routine got me out the door feeling alert and energized.  How Bout You

A basic but necessary tip!

Answer the question, “Why am I going to college?”

Many college students really don’t have a clear reason for being there other than the fact that they don’t know what else to do yet. They inherit goals from family and peers which aren’t truly their own. That was how I started college. Is this you as well?

Another Tip

Stay on campus as much as possible.

Whether it's homesickness, a job, or a boyfriend or girlfriend from home, try not to leave campus too soon or too often. The more time you spend on getting to know the campus and your new friends, the more you'll feel at home at school. And why not take advantage of all the cultural and social events that happen on campus?

New College Successful Tip

Finding the Ideal Place to Study

A Comfortable Place to Study Is A Priority
It may be your dorm room or a cozy corner of the library, but find a place that works best for you to get your work done -- while avoiding as many distractions as possible.

It is a high priority to find a place to study that you are comfortable in and can study without distractions.  Have you ever tried studying in a crowded place, or somewhere loud?  You keep busy but it's hard to keep focused and absorb what you are trying to learn.  Make this one of your top priorities to make sure your College Life is as successful as possible!

College Successful Tip

Learn To Say No
Dennis Nedry Can Say No
For example, an acquaintance of yours would like you to see a movie with him tonight. You made social plans for tomorrow with your friends and tonight you were going to study and do laundry. You really are not interested. You want to say no, but you hate turning people down. Politely saying no should become a habit. Saying no frees up time for the things that are most important.

How can you say no Politely?  Being Gracious, Kind, and Genuine!

Example - Thank you so much for the invite, however I going to have to pass this time.

College Girls

Now although the blog title is College Successful, no discussion about College would be complete without College Girls.
College Girls Having Fun

Any discussion about College would not be complete without College Girls.  College Girls are great because of the mentality created by the atmosphere.  For most college girls, it is the first time living on their own, the first time living independently.  This means that any hang ups they had about letting themselves have fun and experiment are gone for 4 years.  This is the time for them to explore and figure out who they are as a person.  This is why college girls are an integral part of College Successful. Does anyone have any great college stories?
